Terms of Service

Last updated:

By using ShareThings you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.

Who may use it

You must be 18 or older. The service is run by Praful Kharpuriye, an individual in Nagpur, India.

What the service is

ShareThings lets you bundle files, text and links into one share and get one link. Anyone with the link can open it. Every share also has a short code and a short link. Short links are easier to guess than the long link, so use the long link for anything private. Every share stops working 24 hours after it is created, and its content is then deleted, as described in the Privacy Policy (normally within about an hour, but not to the minute). There are limits on the size and number of items, and on how often you can create shares and download files. They may change.

No guarantees

  • The service is free and provided without any promise of availability or uptime. It may be slow, paused or stopped at any time.
  • We do not keep backups of shares and cannot recover them. After a share expires, or if something goes wrong, it cannot be restored.
  • Do not use ShareThings as the only copy of anything.

Your content and our licence

You keep your rights in what you upload. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, copy and transmit it, only to run the service: to hold it for the life of the share and to deliver it to people who have the link. The licence ends when the content is deleted. You promise you have the right to upload and share what you upload.

What you may not share

You must follow the Acceptable Use policy. It forbids, among other things, malware, child sexual abuse material, infringing content, private data about other people, and anything illegal in India.

Our right to remove content and block users

We may remove any share, disable its link, or block a person from the service at any time and without notice, if we think it breaks these terms or the law, or to protect the service or other people.

Copyright

If you believe a share infringes your copyright, use the report form and choose Copyright, or email abuse@sharethings.lol, with the share's link address, a description of your work, and your contact details. When we are notified, we remove the infringing content. We may block users who repeatedly infringe.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranties of any kind, including about fitness for a purpose, accuracy, or that content shared by others is safe, legal or virus-free. Open files from people you do not know at your own risk.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service, including lost data or lost profits. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us to use the service, which is nothing.

Indemnity

You will cover us for any claim, loss or cost (including reasonable legal fees) that arises from content you share or from your breach of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Nagpur, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

Changes

We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and using the service after a change means you accept it. Questions: see Contact.
